How To Find Us - On entry to Hurley Village off the A 4130 the route to the Regatta car
park is clearly marked. Multimap link
The Regatta is held on a stretch of the River Thames on the Berkshire Bank just downstream of Hurley Lock. The course is approximately 400 meters long, with a slightly shorter course for some races, particularly those involving children or potentially unstable craft!
Depending on the number of entries races start between 9-10am and continue every
5 minutes until 5.30pm with an hour’s break for lunch between 1pm – 2pm.
Competitors entering the raft race (always the last event of the day due to the amount of flotsam that needs clearing up afterwards) spend their lunch break making their raft with a selection of bits and pieces provided by us. The assembled rafts are then kept under our watchful eye to guard against sabotage or the addition of a handy outboard!!

During the afternoon there are several land based competitions - tug of war, dog races, egg throwing, angels on a pin head and a mini triathlon - some on water , some on land.
We also have a children’s entertainer and face painter, a fairground and lots of stalls.
Following the ‘serious’ watery bits and the prize giving we continue into the evening with Steve Carroll, the delightful Irish Folk Singer, and finally wind up the day at approximately 11.30pm.
Food and drink, this year provided by The Red Lyon Hurley, is available throughout the day and evening but you are also welcome to bring your own, including BBQ’s.
Gazebo’s can be erected but prime spots are taken very early and gazebo sides are not permitted, as they may block the view for other spectators.
Disabled toilet facilities available at Hurley Lock
Well behaved dogs welcome.
Last year the land based activities gave those who didnt want to get wet, lots to do. This year there will be lots of the favourites and likely some new
